LOCATION: Performing Arts School on Broadway
PAY RANGE: $60,004 - $124,634 Annual Salary
CALENDAR: 190 Days
REPORTS TO: School Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Colorado teaching license with an appropriate English Language Arts endorsement required.
  • Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, *or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. *

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Deep understanding of Colorado Model Content Standards and the Grade Level Expectations in all grade level expectations for Reading, Writing & Communications areas.
  • Desire to grow professionally, be reflective, and seek out new opportunities.
  • Experience using multiple formative and summative assessments to determine students’ level of proficiency provide feedback to students, and to create flexible groups for differentiated instruction.
  • Experience using a wide range of effective instructional practices (active pedagogy) including inquiry-based instruction, to give students support and multiple opportunities needed to meet or exceed standards.
  • Experience designing and/or collaborating on standards based learning experiences, including identifying and preparing course materials, which supports student’s skill development in science, especially related to cross content course work.
  • Experience with developing problem-based instruction and project-based learning.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Build a safe, trusting, and collaborative community with students and their families that allows them to contribute positively to the school community.
  • Mentor and serve as a student advocate on a two-year loop.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student’s academic and social and emotional needs.
  • Guide students through meaningful internship experiences and commute to facilitate meetings with internship mentors.
  • Provide project planning support for student’s two personal projects each year.
  • Plan advisory activities with grade level teams that support social-emotional growth and community building.
  • Support and monitor student’s Individualized Learning Plan through weekly 1 on 1 meetings.
  • Use data to direct planning and instruction.
  • Collaborate extensively with specialists to provide appropriate accommodations for content practice and assessment.
  • Routinely assess student goals and progress and make appropriate instructional adjustments as necessary to support personal growth.
  • Create opportunities for learning that simultaneously support students with 504’s, IEP, GATES plans and more.
  • Utilize standards to backward instruction.
  • Goal set and meet regularly with Instructional Coach and/or Director to support professional growth.
