Overview:
Staniford Realty/University Gastroenterology is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper/CPA. The position can be fully remote once on-site training is complete, and the ideal candidate should be highly organized, able to multi-task, detail-oriented, and have exceptional communication skills. The position requires the applicant to be self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Records numerical and financial data to produce financial records.
· Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately.
· Enters journal entries to debit and credit the company’s accounts.
· Generates accounting and audit reports for cash receipts, accounts payable and receivable, expenditures, and profits and losses.
· Reconciles and reports differences or issues found in financial records.
· Ensure that journal entries and other critical records are maintained in accordance with accounting practices.
· Reconciliation of bank accounts within QuickBooks.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
· Knowledge of QuickBooks software (both online and desktop versions)
· Knowledge of accounts payable/bill pay functions, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, Outlook calendar and email, Excel and Word software.
· General knowledge of sales tax reporting, and property management/mortgage payment transactions.
· General knowledge of personal and business tax returns (not tax preparation).
· Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.
· Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
· Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree with accounting coursework preferred.
· At least three years of bookkeeping experience required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· None.
Job Type:Part-time, 20-25 weekly hours. Can be 100% remote once on-site training is complete.
