Position Title : Host / Hostess

Location : Kitchen Cray, Alexandria, VA

Shift : 11am - 6pm (Weekends only)

Reports to : Restaurant Manager

Overview : The Host / Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly and efficient manner, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth flow of the dining area during the lunch rush.

Key Responsibilities :

• Greeting Guests : Warmly welcome guests as they enter the restaurant, providing a positive first impression.
• Seating Guests : Efficiently manage the seating chart, escort guests to their tables, and provide menus.
• Managing Reservations : Handle incoming reservations and manage the reservation book or digital system to ensure an organized flow of guests.
• Communication : Maintain clear communication with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure timely and accurate service.
• Customer Service : Address guest inquiries and resolve any seating issues or complaints promptly and courteously.
• Cleanliness : Ensure the entrance, waiting area, and host stand are clean and organized.
• Assistance : Assist in coordinating special requests, such as large parties or guests with special needs.
• Safety and Compliance : Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
• Other Duties : Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications :

• Experience : Prior experience as a host / hostess or in a customer service role preferred.
• Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to multitask, and a friendly demeanor.
• Appearance : Professional appearance and adherence to the restaurant’s dress code.
• Availability : Must be available to work the specified shift from 11am to 2pm, including weekends and holidays if required.
• Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for long periods, navigate crowded areas, and carry light items like menus.
