About The PositionThe Associate Director of Alumni Engagement will lead key initiatives, programs, and events that drive experiential student and alumni engagement. In this role, you will oversee volunteer resources to support and expand regional and affinity alumni chapters, student leadership, and an ambassador program. Your responsibilities will also include supporting the planning and execution of reunions and other significant alumni and student events throughout the year.
What You’ll Be Doing
Regional & Affinity Engagement
  • Lead and oversee the growth and stewardship of regional and affinity chapters at OHSU.
  • Drive volunteer chapter leadership team support through regular communication, team meetings, and goal setting.
    • Develop comprehensive leadership development plans for individual chapters.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement on all-volunteer leadership development.
  • Plan and coordinate 4-6 regional events annually for each chapter.
  • Manage chapter budgets and coordinate event emails and newsletters with the alumni team.
  • Work closely with Director of Alumni Engagement to establish success metrics and transition management of chapter leaders
Reunion Volunteer Coordination
  • Analyze each milestone class and identify class coordinators with 10 months of communication and support
  • Lead decision-making for email communication, event planning, and day-of logistics for class gatherings.
  • Collaborate with development partners on potential class scholarships.
  • Lead the creation of BrightCrowd class books and communication strategies to improve engagement and connection.
Experiential Engagement Support
  • Support the Director of Alumni Engagement on the production of Alumni Reunion Weekends for Dentistry, Nursing, and Medicine
  • Assist with the coordination of signature events for OHSU alumni
  • Collaborate with alumni team partners on student milestone events as well as stewardship of student leaders on the Alumni Leadership Councils
  • Manage OHSU Greenhouse Ambassador program (an online community platform) with detailed asks and clear acknowledgement of appreciation and impact
  • Support the implementation of an experiential engagement strategy for Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) programming for all OHSU alumni by leading the GOLD Board
  • Lead the marketing and production of Timely Topics events.

You should have
  • 3-5 years of experience in Alumni Engagement and/or volunteer management.
  • 1 years of experience in event planning.

Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced office and external event environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Physical setup and takedown of events, including the ability to move up to 40lbs.
  • Flexibility to staff events or meetings outside of normal work hours.
  • Some travel within the Portland metropolitan area may be required.
Salary (Step I): $76,751 USD - $95,939 USD
Pay
Salary is dependent on experience. Each salary band is broken into three "steps," which correspond with an employee’s experience/tenure, proficiency and performance in that specific role. New employees will typically start at step I of our pay band to allow for later growth, although more experienced candidates may be eligible to start at step II or III. The OHSU Foundation has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
