Farmhand for Equestrian Facility
Part time or full time, must be available at least one weekend day. 8:00-4:30
Horse and or farm experience is helpful, but not absolutely required. We are willing to teach someone that is really interested in the job. We have a busy lesson program as well as boarded horses in training. Teaching people competency with all aspects of horses is a mainstay of what we do. Compensation dependent on experience.
Relevant but not required skills:
- Experience in farming and agriculture
- Equine handling and care skills
- Knowledge of animal care practices
- Ability to operate farm machinery
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks
Job responsibilities include:
- Providing feed and care for horses both in the stable and outdoors, including stall cleaning.
- Managing the horses' turn in/out.
- Performing general horse care such as blanketing and administering medications.
- General cleaning.
- Carrying out basic farm maintenance tasks.
You should: be able to repeatedly lift 20-50lbs (water buckets, hay bales and grain bags); be comfortable working in all weather conditions; be detail oriented; enjoy being around and caring for animals; have reliable transportation, and the ability to reliably attend work as the horses need care every day no matter what, enjoy doing high quality work with a passionate team.
