Our attorney provides excellent legal work, puts our clients’ interests first, and represents our firm’s brand at all times, which is to be compassionate, responsive, and professional. Among other things, our attorney:

  1. Performs case-related research for our cases.
  2. Negotiates with opposing counsel and insurance companies.
  3. Drafts pleadings, correspondence, and agreements.
  4. Maintains client relationships by communicating with them often and explaining complex legal proceedings and concepts to them in easy-to-understand terms. Keeps clients informed frequently of the status of their case. 
  5. Communicates effectively, professionally, and responsibly with opposing counsel and the Court. 
  6. Manages cases and deadlines, keeping the firm apprised of status and issues.
  7. Keeps online and paper files well-organized.
  8. Multi-tasks effortlessly. 
  9. Makes sure clients are fully prepped for adversarial events. 
  10. Represents clients at Court hearings, mediation, conferences, and depositions. 
  11. Works effectively with all team members.
  12. Attends CLEs, bar association events, business development, and networking functions.
  13. Prepares on-line posts and assists in writing and researching articles.
  14. Performs all other tasks as requested. 

A successful candidate will:

  2. Embrace service-oriented problem solving, taking the initiative to act quickly and decisively when a client experiences a problem that requires a prompt solution.
  3. Be able to understand that clients have different styles and needs and adapt his/her/their style accordingly.
  4. Exercise sound judgment, high integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  5. Carefully proof his/her/their work.
  6. Not be afraid to ask questions or collaborate on finding a solution for a problem. Admit when he/she/they doesn’t/don’t know something.
  7. Be able to step outside comfort zone to take on new challenges, particularly with respect to litigation.
  8. Promote the firm and actively develop business for the firm. 
  9. Write clearly and concisely. Produce a timely, accurate, and persuasive work product.
  10. Work in a team environment and take constructive criticism well when offered.

Required Education and Work Experience:

  • JD from accredited law school
  • 3 years of litigation experience
  • Admission to the Maryland Bar, or admission pending
  • Eligible to be admitted to the District of Columbia Bar
  • Clerkship a plus
  • Foreign languages a plus
