Position Description: Inventory Planner/Buyer (On Site)

HEMPZ is searching for a Planner Buyer to join our team. This person will be responsible for developing and executing monthly supply chain processes. This role involves planning and purchasing material components, required to ensure that the company maintains adequate inventory levels to meet production and customer needs while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Planning:
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies in alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill their material requirements.
  1. Supplier Management:
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and perform regular stock assessments.
  • Implement inventory control systems to manage stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient inventory flow.
  1. Order Processing:
  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Track and expedite orders to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders, including returns and replacements.
  1. Cost Management:
  • Analyze and manage procurement costs to achieve budget targets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to reduce procurement expenses.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on pricing trends and changes.
  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and inventory data.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, including key metrics and KPIs.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations.
  • Manage risks associated with supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and changes that may impact procurement practices.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, takes initiative- business and results driven.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Advance skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is preferred.
