Position: QMHP / Counselor

Job Description:

Cornerstone Youth Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Professional to join our team. The Professional will be responsible for providing quality behavioral health services to clients in a private practice setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals, families, and couples and a passion for providing quality care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions with clients
• Provide consultation and behavioral health services to clients in Richmond, VA area
• Complete required documentation including but not limited to assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, etc.
• Attend monthly staff meetings as required
• Maintain current knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations regarding mental health services
• May be asked to attend crisis intervention training or seminars as needed
• May be asked to work with different types of populations including but not limited to children, adolescents, adults, couples, etc.
• May be asked to provide supervision as needed to other therapists as well as direct supervision of therapists performing tasks within the clinic

Requirements:

Counselors will provide oriented services to individual with the intent to stabilize their living situation and/or their mental wellness, in order make a transition to a step down mental health service.

Responsibilities:

• Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues
• Provide intervention-oriented therapy
• Implement and review treatment plans
• Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies
• Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner
• Offer linking programs to individuals with substance abuse issues, housing concerns, and food shortages.

Qualifications:

• QMHP-A / QMHP-C based on the population. Must have current registry with the VA Board of Counseling OR be willing to obtain.
• Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields
• Familiarity with community mental health resources
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Strong leadership qualities

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
