Program Manager

Hybrid/Washington, DC or Remote 

Basic Functions

  • Build strategic relationships with key stakeholders to advance the field of skills-based hiring
  • Develop materials and events that build awareness and adoption a of skills-based hiring and learning and employment records (LERs)
  • Provide oversight and project management for related programs and initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with and convene key stakeholders to advance skills-based hiring
  • Strengthen NAWB’s relationships with and structure collaborations with leaders in this space
  • Convene a Community of Practice and engage workforce boards and others in sharing and advancing emerging practices
  • Develop materials and events that build awareness and adoption of skills-based hiring and LERs
  • Oversee the development of materials that highlight best practices and innovation
  • Design and produce webinars, events, and conference sessions designed to expand skills-based hiring
  • Co-create and support marketing and outreach
  • Provide program management for skills-based hiring and related programs
  • Manage project timelines, prepare and manage contracts, subcontracts, and other requirements for multiple programs concurrently
  • Provide technical assistance and support
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring and reporting on federal and foundation grants
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Programs and Initiatives on program oversight
  • Work with strategic partners to refine key performance indicators and identify sources and data collection methods for both qualitative and quantitative measures
  • Monitor project budgets
  • Coordinate technical assistance efforts within the program team for multiple projects
  • Research, develop, monitor, and foster relationships with funders and industry to secure investments aligned with NAWB’s mission.
  • Serve as a representative of NAWB with members and external stakeholders

Requirements and Skills

  • A proven track record of 5-7 years in program management or grants and contracts administration
  • Experience providing technical assistance and coaching, stakeholder engagement, and/or project tracking and reporting
  • Knowledge of efforts and emerging practices around skills-based hiring models and learning and employment records
  • Preferred knowledge of workforce development boards, their structure, and community impact
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Must be highly motivated and team-oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel

Compensation

Salary range is $72,000 - $82,000 and is commensurate with experience. The full package includes benefits, such as healthcare, disability, dental, vision, and a 401(k).

This position is grant funded. Its continuance is dependent on funding availability after current grant expiration.
