Position Summary:
Amistad High School is seeking a dynamic and passionate High School Chemistry Teacher to join our team in New Haven, CT. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the sciences, a commitment to fostering a love for learning, and a dedication to preparing students for college and career readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Excellence:

• Implement engaging and rigorous chemistry curriculum aligned with state and AF standards.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Integrate technology and hands-on experiments to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Assess and analyze student performance data to inform instruction and provide targeted support.

Classroom Management:

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and personal growth.
• Establish and maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic performance.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative instructional strategies.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in chemistry education and pedagogy.
• Engage in regular feedback and coaching sessions with school leadership and peers.

Student and Family Engagement:

• Communicate regularly with students and families about academic progress, behavior, and opportunities for enrichment.
• Foster strong relationships with students and families to support student success and well-being.
• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid state teaching certification in Chemistry (or eligibility for certification).
• Proven track record of success in teaching chemistry at the high school level.
• Strong content knowledge and passion for the sciences.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $50,600.00 - $89,989.00 per year
