Position Summary
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce will play a pivotal role in promoting the Chamber's external initiatives, events, and services. This individual will be responsible for executing marketing campaigns, managing various communication channels, and providing crucial support to the Chamber’s members and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and possess a passion for marketing and communications. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications, working closely with them to develop and execute successful marketing and communication strategies.
Responsibilities
Marketing Functions:
Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance the Chamber’s visibility and brand awareness.
Manage and maintain the Chamber’s social media accounts, crafting engaging and relevant content for various platforms.
Execute email marketing campaigns, ensuring targeted messaging to different audience segments.
Maintain and update the Chamber’s website with the latest information, news, and event details.
Collaborate with internal teams to create promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, and banners.
Communications Functions:
Produce compelling and persuasive copy for press releases, blog posts, newsletters, and other communication materials.
Cultivate relationships with local media to secure coverage for Chamber events and initiatives.
Ensure consistent messaging and brand voice across all communication channels.
Monitor industry trends and news to identify opportunities for the Chamber to engage with relevant topics.
Support Functions:
Utilize the Chamber's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, updating member profiles and tracking interactions.
Provide assistance and support to Chamber members, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Coordinate and assist in organizing Chamber events, workshops, and networking sessions.
Assist with event photography, capturing memorable moments during Chamber events.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a nonprofit organization or business association.
Proficiency in social media management and marketing tools.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms and best practices.
Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative marketing ideas.
Strong organizational and project management abilities, able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Graphic design abilities welcome.
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of CRM systems is a plus.
Experience in event photography and basic photo editing skills is a plus.
Knowledge of the Chicago business landscape and community is advantageous.
