Diana's Bakery is Hiring a Quality Manager Near Agawam, MA

Overall Responsibility

As the Quality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our bakery products meet and exceed the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes throughout the production cycle as well overseeing facility audits and inspections to deliver safe, delicious, and consistently high-quality baked goods to our customers. The QA Manager is responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Core Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Maintain a culture of continuous improvement towards food safety, quality, and efficiency.

· Serv as the Primary PCQI and SQF Practitioner for the Facility.

· Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards for all stages of bakery production, including ingredient sourcing, mixing, baking, packaging, and distribution.

· Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify and address quality issues in real-time, minimizing product defects and waste.

· Establish and maintain quality assurance documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), audit records, and quality control records.

· Ensure compliance with FSMA/FDA regulations and GFSI standards.

· Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment, facilities, and processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

· Lead and train bakery staff on quality control protocols, hygiene practices, and food safety regulations to uphold product integrity and ensure a culture of quality throughout the organization.

· Monitor and analyze product quality metrics, customer feedback, and consumer complaints to identify trends and implement corrective actions as needed.

· Coordinate and participate in third-party audits and inspections to validate compliance with food safety standards and certifications.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders, providing timely responses and resolutions to maintain customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

· As a member of the plant leadership team, the quality manager contributes to the overall plant performance and success.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements

· In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., FDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMP, SQF)

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

· Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve quality objectives and uphold company values.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software applications.

Education/Experience

· 4-year degree in Food Science or Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field (preferred)

· 5 years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment

· PCQI Qualified

· HACCP Qualified

· SQF Qualified

Work Environment

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Inside an air-conditioned building with normal temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees. Minor smoke/smell from ovens and dryers. Contact with food allergens like wheat, egg, soy, milk, peanuts, and tree-nuts. Occasionally required to enter walk-in-cooler or freezer for a short period of time with normal temperature between 0 to 40 degrees.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Stooping and bending may be below the knees, lifting and reaching may be above shoulders. Grasping, pushing, pulling as needed.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
