Job Title: Senior Payroll Manager

Job Duration: 6 Months temp to hire

Job Location: Alameda California 94502 (Onsite)

Note:

Regular Shift 8AM - 5PM PST

Job Description:

Summary:

Client is seeking a temporary Senior Payroll Manager to manage and actively participate in the payroll processing cycle to ensure the payroll processes are timely, accurate, efficient, and consistent. The ideal candidate should have experience with Workday payroll processing, strong analytical and payroll skills, be detail-oriented and able to provide training to the payroll team.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee the Workday bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll processes to ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of payroll transactions including employee compensation, LOA’s, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Analyze related payroll/benefits data, review Workday reports, and provide documentation per audit requirements.
  • Manage payroll analysts and provide training, coaching and review of their payroll analyses.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting and assist with audits and other compliance matters.
  • Ensure processing of payroll updates, new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates, and stock transactions (NQ, RSU, PSU), as needed.
  • Review/update payroll processes and procedures, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and related employment laws and best practices.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding compensation.
  • Ensure SOX compliance with internal control policies.
  • Perform other related functions and ad hoc projects, as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 7 years of related experience; or
  • Master’s degree in related discipline and 5 years of related experience
  • Relevant certifications such as CPP, CPM, PCP are helpful.

Experience/The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Equivalent experience of 10 years.
  • Experience in multi-state payroll processing for 1,000 employees.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience using Workday Payroll and analyzing/reviewing Workday payroll reports.
  • Demonstrated ownership, problem-solving and analytical skills (using Advance Microsoft Excel - Pivot Tables & V lookup).

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
