Principal Responsibilities
- Greet all customers entering the store to create a friendly and inviting shopping experience.
- Actively seek out customers on the main floor and in the aisles.
- Ask open ended questions about customers' projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise.
- Aid customers in locating merchandising in store, as well as, on acehardware.com.
- Discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise required for their project.
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, location, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements.
- Thank the customer for shopping at Alamo Ace Hardware.
- Request information or assistance using the store radio system, and respond to others requests in a quick and respectful manner.
- Be actively conscious of shoplifting activity and responsive of safety issues.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices.
- Maintain aisle stock, overstock and cleanliness.
- Any other responsibilities given by management.
- A commitment to service excellence, customer satisfaction, and making the customers the first priority.
- Sales experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers a plus.
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to do what needs to be done without being prompted by others or the willingness to take a fresh approach.
- The ability to clearly communicate information and ideas written or verbally to associates and customers.
- Exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

- Bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Must have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evening, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
- Starting wage: $15 hour, negotiable depending on experience.
