LHH is Hiring a Control System Engineer Near Albuquerque, NM

LHH is seeking a Mid-Senior level GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) Engineer for our client in the greater Albuquerque, NM area. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems that guide and control aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, or other vehicles. Your work will involve ensuring precise navigation, accurate targeting, and stable flight control through the use of sensors, actuators, algorithms, and software. This full-time direct hire position is fully on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing GNC systems for aerospace vehicles, including requirements analysis, system architecture design, and component selection.
  • Utilize MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow for discrete-time modeling and analysis in the development of control systems.
  • Planning and executing tests to validate GNC system functionality and performance, including ground testing, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and flight testing.
  • Develop and maintain 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) simulations to support GNC system testing and validation.
  • Extract and analyze relevant information from flight test data for system identification purposes.
  • Providing progress updates and technical briefings to project stakeholders and management.

Qualifications

  • 2-10 years of experience in GNC engineering, with a strong focus on MATLAB/Simulink, autocode generation, and system-level performance characterization.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Utilize GIT and JIRA for version control and project management.
  • Some familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Programming in Python and at least one compiled language

The anticipated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $184,000 based on a written compensation plan.
