Walker Automotive is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Alexandria, LA
Walker Automotive, a leading auto dealership in Alexandria, Louisiana, is looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our accounting and finance team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll and all related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. This is an individual contributor role with a salary range of $21 to $24 per hour, paid biweekly.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range of $21 to $24 per hour,(based on experience)

- Process employee payroll accurately and on time using dealerships software
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations
- Maintain payroll records and employee information in HRIS system
- Resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
- Calculate and process bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related incentives
- Verify and enter employee timekeeping records and adjustments
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments
- Assist with year-end payroll tax reporting and filings
- Stay updated on changes to payroll regulations and recommend process improvements
- Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information
- Other duties and projects as assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the auto industry
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations
- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Must have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
