Job Title: Asset Specialist

Location: Glen Allen, Virginia 23060

Onsite M-F 

Position Description:

The IT Asset Specialist supports procurement and management of technology-related hardware assets. Primary responsibilities include tracking technology related equipment inventories and deployed assets, executing processes for equipment disposals, and managing warranty and repair-related tasks. Data entry within the asset management system and periodic inventory audits are necessary to ensure accuracy and of asset inventory and the end-to-end IT equipment life cycle. 

Position Accountabilities:

• Responsible for performing all aspects of the company’s technology asset management process to ensure equipment is accurately inventoried and accounted for
• Producing and reviewing asset inventory and management reports
• Maintaining IT Hardware/Software Asset Management Processes and Procedures
• Work with ISM System Administrators to implement asset tracking enhancements
• Create and update process and procedure documentation for IT Hardware/Software Asset management
• Monitor and fulfill Service Catalog orders/requests routed via ISM system
• Monitor existing product stocking levels and thresholds within stockroom and follow existing processes to maintain appropriate levels
• Work with 3rd party vendors to ensure request catalog is up to date with latest hardware and pricing
• Perform and document periodic inventory audits
• Provide IT Asset Management expertise and support for IT projects as needed
• Serve as initial escalation point for IT Hardware/Software Asset Management issues. 

Organizational Relationship:

This assignment reports to the Technical Support Manager.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Associate or Higher College degree, or equivalent work experience
• At least 1 year of supply chain, procurement, supplier and/or asset management work experience is preferred
• At least 2 years of technology-related hardware work experience. 

Knowledge & Skills:

• Familiarity with basic inventory management processes and procedures
• Working experience with computer hardware and components
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
