THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our finance team. In this role, you will oversee all financial activities, including financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, while managing and mentoring a team of 3 finance professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, excellent analytical skills, and strong team management skills. This position reports directly to the Head of Finance & Control while working closely with the CFO.

YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

• Managing all accounting operations for 4 entities (3 Dutch, 1 US) including Billing, AR, AP, as well as fundamental controllership tasks.

• Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements

• Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

• Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

• Managing the finance team consisting of 2 Accountants and 1 Finance Assistant

• Helping with further development/implementation of MS Dynamics modules

• Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Booking general accrual and journal entries, including payroll

• Supporting monthly VAT and other tax filings

• Preparing cash flow statements and projections

• Managing internal budgeting and procurement approval workflows

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• 5-7 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience preferably in a start up/ scale up

• Knowledgeable in IFRS including financial reporting requirements in NL, huge plus if you are knowledgeable financial reporting requirements in US/Canada

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Experience using MS Dynamics

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

• Experience with creating financial statements

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments
