Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Aegis Home Health is currently seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) that has a passion for providing outstanding services to the elderly in Senior Living Communities and in-home health settings. This is full-time position working in the Anchorage, AK area.
Each Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is an important part of the Aegis Health Care team. Aegis specializes in providing care for home health patients in home settings and in senior living communities. A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) administers occupational therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OT). If you are passionate about providing excellent care and are willing to challenge yourself daily to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families, we want YOU on our team.

  • Provide physician prescribed occupational therapy under a plan of care established by the OT
  • Improve or minimize residual physical disabilities of the patient 
  • Return the patient to optimum and productive levels (within patient capability)
  • Participate with all other health care personnel in patient care planning 
  • Perform all skilled procedures as ordered by the physician and according to the plan of care established by the OT
  • Consult with OT regarding change in treatment 
  • Participate in educating the patient and the patient's family
  • Participate in QAPI and in-service programs as assigned 
  • Attend all patient care conferences as scheduled 
  • Prepare medical records, progress notes and update care plans for each patient visit in a timely manner as per policy 
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Graduate from a two-year college level program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association 
  • Currently licensed, registered or certified in the state of practice
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred
  • Compassionate and caring attitude 
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement 
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable automobile 
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
  • Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance 
  • Negative TB test 
Salary: $36 - $40 per hour
