This is a contract position with a possibility of converting to a permanent position based on the performance and cultural fit. The duration of the initial contract is six months.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize synthetic organic chemistry expertise to design and execute novel multi-step synthesis of small and complex molecules of interest.
• Troubleshoot a wide array of synthetic chemistry issues at the bench scale and apply corrective measures.
• Understand and apply complex and advanced chemical concepts in a laboratory setting.
• Collect and consolidate data from multiple sources including laboratory notebooks records and chemical literature to enable evaluation of experimental outcomes by identifying important information, tracing possible causes of problems, and searching for practical solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• PhD in Synthetic Organic or Medicinal Chemistry. Post doctoral experience desirable.
• Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, and presentation skills). Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Extensive synthetic chemistry experience.
• Experience in basic characterization techniques (e.g., NMR, MS, IR).
• Scientific record demonstrating excellence in chemistry (e.g. publications, patents, or presentations).
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
