Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a community medical center in Arcata, CA to find a skilled and dedicated OR Circulatory RN for a 13-week contract position.

About the Opportunity:

This rewarding opportunity will allow you to contribute your expertise to a supportive environment within a community medical center. You will work alongside a team of experienced professionals in a fast-paced surgical setting, ensuring the smooth operation of the OR and providing exceptional care to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain a sterile surgical environment
• Prepare the OR according to surgical procedures
• Stock and maintain surgical supplies and equipment
• Assist the surgical team during procedures
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and scrub nurse
• Ensure proper patient positioning and draping
• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in safety briefings and adhere to infection control protocols
• Perform sterile processing tasks (may vary by unit)
• Some call coverage will be required.

Qualifications:

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a surgical setting (preferred)
• Experience with OR procedures a plus
• Strong sterile technique and aseptic practices
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently
• Minimal experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) a plus

Schedule:

• 13-week contract assignment
• 40 hours per week guaranteed (Monday-Friday)
• Some call coverage will be required.
