firstPRO Inc. is Hiring an IT Business Analyst Near Augusta, ME

FirstPro is now accepting resumes for an IT Business Analyst position based in Maine. This role will focus on requirements analysis, documenting procedures, crafting user stories and test cases and working on completing projects. This is a contract position that can be worked primarily remotely from home.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Workshops to drive requirements analysis.
  • Designing workflows utilizing BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation).
  • Applying established methodologies for gathering formal requirements.
  • Crafting Business Requirements, including the project initiation document, outlining desired outcomes and quality benchmarks.
  • Defining Functional requirements that detail the actions the system, process, or product/service must perform to meet business needs.
  • Interpreting User (stakeholder) requirements, a critical component of the deliverables, ensuring stakeholders’ needs are accurately captured.
  • Specifying Quality-of-service (non-functional) requirements that support the functionality, such as performance, scalability, QoS, security, and usability.
  • Outlining Report Specifications, detailing the report’s purpose, rationale, attributes, columns, ownership, and operational parameters.
  • Constructing a Requirements Traceability Matrix to track the progression of requirements throughout the requirements gathering phase.
  • Partnering with the Project Manager to chart a course for success and devise strategies to counter potential risks.
  • Constructing models of business processes in their future state to navigate obstacles, tackle challenges, and seize opportunities.
  • Formulating precise and detailed functional and technical specifications (user stories and acceptance criteria) for strategic planning of solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 1-3 years of prior experience as a Business Analyst on IT projects.
  • Proficiency in developing user stories and test cases.
  • Experience with State and Federal projects.
  • Expertise in authoring Test Plans and executing Test Cases.
