MCA Communications is Hiring a Structured Cabling Technician Near Austin, TX

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Technician with significant experience in commercial installations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems, with a focus on delivering top-notch service and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, test, and label a variety of cabling types including copper and fiber optic cables in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Execute cable pulls, routing, and dressing in both new and existing commercial environments.
  • Collaborate with Lead technicians and Field Supervisors to ensure the successful completion of cabling projects within specified timelines.
  • Perform site surveys and assess requirements for new installations or upgrades.
  • Conduct testing and certification of installed cables to ensure adherence to performance standards and proper functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cabling systems efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all installations and configurations.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of hands-on experience in structured cabling installations in commercial settings.
  • Proficiency in terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards such as ANSI, TIA, and BICSI.
  • Familiarity with cabling tools, equipment, and testing devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as BICSI, OSHA will be considered a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
