Lamar Institute of Technology is Hiring a Campus Safety Officer Near Beaumont, TX
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs security and safety duties on the property of Lamar Institute of Technology
- Preserves safety and security by interceding to prevent or deter crime
- Investigate non-criminal incidents to detect safety or security issues, including loss of property
- Prepare various written reports narrating incidents and provide supplemental information, as needed, on criminal activities
- Give credible and accurate testimony in criminal court, if required
- Provide assistance and support to the victims of crime, and to all student, faculty, staff and visitors to the LIT Campus
- Use a portable battery system to jump start vehicles, put air in tires, assist in vehicle unlocks and occasionally change flat tires
- Works daytime, evening, and weekend shifts as scheduled
- Perform other related duties, as needed
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Level III Commissioned Security Officer
This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
