Job Description: Labor and Delivery RN - 13-Week Contract

Location: Brownwood, TX

Shift: 12-hour night shifts

Duration: 13 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Monitor vital signs of mother and baby, tracking progress and identifying any potential complications.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist with pain management techniques, including the administration of epidurals and other medications.
• Conduct fetal monitoring to assess fetal heart rates and overall well-being.
• Prepare mothers for labor, assisting with various birthing positions and techniques.
• Support mothers during delivery, providing guidance and reassurance.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective care.
• Manage emergency situations, such as fetal distress or complications, with quick and efficient response.
• Educate new mothers on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and infant care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all care and interventions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Requirements:

• Valid RN license in Texas.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide compassionate care and support to patients and families.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in high-risk labor and delivery settings.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Experience with Epic EMR system.

Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
