Evolve Healthcare is seeking a ER travel RN for a hospital that is looking to fill a 13- week contract in Bakersfield, CA.
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. He / She communicates with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
· Current and valid state RN License
· ACLS (must be AHA)
· BLS (must be AHA)
· PALS (must be AHA)
· Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
· Basic Arrythmia Interpretation
· Must have COVID vaccination/booster
· Minimum of Three (3)-year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting
Education:
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
· **CERNER REQUIRED**
- # beds 21 (Fast track staffed with midlevel's & LVNs)
- Certs BLS, ACLS, PALS, & NIHSS are required
- Ratios 1 to 4 unless ICU patient would be 1 to 2
- EMR Cerner
- Charge Nurse Shift manager & a resource nurse
- Nurse Aides ED Techs are EMT or aides from other units
- Weekend Requirement "4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
- Weekends are Fri/Sat for nights & Sat/Sun for days"
- Holidays 1 major & 1 minor
- Scrub Color Navy blue. If you wear a scrub jacket it also must be navy. If you wear an undershirt underneath your scrub top it must be navy, white, or black.
