Estimator– Your Job Duties
You will support our team of Project Managers, from bidding and pre-construction through project management to ensure the timely execution and coordination of civil construction projects.
You will:
· Develop complete cost estimates for civil construction projects based on contractual specifications including preparing schedule of all estimated costs for the project;
· Oversee and provide mentorship and guidance to the Project Engineers supporting your estimating projects including review of work;
· Perform project takeoffs (in the office) – review blueprints to develop project scope for bid;
· Track submitted bids and statuses, including investigating lost bids for more information in order to refine the estimating process going forward;
· Collaborate with the Project Managers regarding the estimate once the project commences.
Estimator – Required Skills & Prior Experience
You must have:
· Prior experience estimating construction work (ideally for civil construction projects), reading contract language and preparing bid packages and proposals;
· Prior experience developing project schedules;
· A high attention to detail and enjoy the detailed work involved in preparing estimates.
