As a Financial Project Controller, you will be working with other accountants, the project analyst, and the Chief Financial Officer. When working with your team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance of all financial administration and risk management, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

This position is a hybrid position working remotely and coming to the office in Beavercreek OH a couple of days a week. 

In addition to that, a typical day-in-the-life of a Parallax Financial Project Controller includes:

  • Managing internal financial controls and compliance established by the CFO.
  • Preparation of fiscal reports/documentation, and metrics; preparing and communicating monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinating monthly close process including, but not limited to, overseeing bi-weekly program billings process, payroll and payables processing and monthly budget variance analysis.
  • Leading the development of Indirect Rates and the annual reporting and reconciliation of Incurred Cost Submission Cognitive Agency.
  • Developing and implementing strategies that result in a growing base of funds to support initiatives.
  • Managing cash flow and forecasting; directing all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
  • Ensuring financial transactions are consistent with all applicable Parallax guidelines, policies, and regulations.
  • Maintains financial records and systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, DCAA, DCMA and complaint with all applicable OMB Circulars specifically including CFR220 and CFR 230 and Uniform Guidance Super Circular.
  • Supporting the Parallax Audit. Preparing auditor, as well as federal and state audit agencies for the CFO's approval and submission.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of requisite policies and procedures to respond to changes in regulatory environment.
  • Developing and Reviewing all formal finance-related procedures, processes, and administration, recommending improvements to the systems in place and managing the systems going forward.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the development and growth of the finance team and guide larger multi-disciplinary teams outside of finance. 

Ideally, you are looking for your next long-term challenge and have these skill?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
  • 7 years of broad industry financial analysis and accounting experience with government contracting
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully managing finance accounting, budgeting, control, audit, compliance, and reporting within a complex financial environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with Federal grants, contracts, MOU’s, and similar legal instruments.
  • Experience overseeing compliance with financial management and reporting for Federal and State awards.

Furthermore, do you have, or want to develop these skills?

  • MBA
  • 3 years of management experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Defense Financial Manager or other recognized third-party certifications
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Costpoint Financial System Software and back-end data sets (tables).
  • 10 years’ experience with a government contractor
