The Site Controller is a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst who presents data that allows management to act. Responsible for the preparation of the business budget, P&L, Balance Sheet and preparation of documents to report the financial performance in a way that allows management to closely monitor the business financial health, understand the details of the business. The Site Controller is a proactive member of the CORE management team and provides data that allows peers to prepare necessary reports used in decision making process. In this role you enjoy preparing and presenting while engaging with team members to provide financial guidance. There is access to confidential information and the Site Controller understands that confidentiality is paramount to their success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare monthly financial reports which accurately reflects the business activity and provide those reports to management, including comments from management as to the impacts to the financial results.
- Key responsibility in budgeting and forecast planning, incorporating operating benchmarks from divisional controlling and communicate to local management team.
- Guide financial decisions of management by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape, ensuring smart cashflow management practices.
- Maintain records of accounts and business.
- Work proactively with team members in the valuation of inventory and ensuring the cycle counting is reporting minimal fluctuation between counts and, if necessary, schedule physical inventory.
- Business liaison with audit and is receptive to audit findings, researching issues to GAAP while implementing and reporting changes to policy to ensure transparency in the financial reporting.
- Achieve budget goals / time targets with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions supporting management and project leads in the reporting of project costs and cost savings.
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue, expenses, organizational budgets, and actual expenditures.
- Ensure training of peers to line-item budgets and policies of MAHLE accounting.
- Proactively interfaces with other departments; sales, production, quality, engineering, human resources, procurement, logistics, HSE and finance.
- Responsible for keeping site management informed in all budget, financial, compliance issues related to the financial health of the business.
- Performs other duties as required and/or requested.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field.
- 5 years of direct related experience as a senior-level accountant or in finance, mfg. environment ideally
- CMA - Certified Management Accountant - preferred
- Strong computer skills in MS Office products and SAP S4/HANA direct experience preferred.
- Will need to shift from US to German accounting practices (open to learning German process)
- Proactive and positive communication skills (verbal and written) that motivate and drive results across various dept. team's members
- Experience with budgeting, forecast planning, benchmarking, and cashflow management.
- Analytical - synthesize complex or diverse information; collect / research data; use intuition / experience to complement data.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Promotes and follows the business units Core Efforts and Values.
- English is the primary language.
