Under general supervision, performs accounting duties involving the preparation and maintenance of accounts payable records.

Reconciles invoice quantities and charges with purchase orders; processes accounts payable check vouchers and prepares checks from orders issued by City departments; prepares year end 1099 forms and assists with annual financial audit; receives and/or reviews various records and reports including requisitions, purchase orders and invoices; interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals to include department heads, managers, vendors, purchasing department, finance manager, and accountant.

Should have thorough knowledge of the methods, policies, and procedures of the department as they pertain to the performance of duties of the Accounts Payable Clerk.

Recommends an associate's degree supplemented by minimum of 1 year of experience in a job related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
