- Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment;
- Conducting a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors;
- Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presenting the data in prescribed form.
Job requirements: must have a thorough knowledge of mechanical components troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex tasks, and may be required to make entries in logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
Requires
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology;
- Five years of relevant work experience developing plans, solutions, and designs in managing, coordinating oversight of facility and infrastructure projects involving construction or maintenance of facilities and data centers/server room with redundant systems.
