Suominen is looking to hire a dynamic Manager, Maintenance to manage preventative and corrective maintenance and repair activities so that the plant´s buildings, facilities, production lines and equipment operate reliably and according to stringent safety and quality standards of Suominen, local codes, laws, and regulations.

You may be our next Manager, Maintenance, to be located at our Bethune, SC location. This position reports to the Director, Plant.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Supervises a large Maintenance team made up of Mechanical and Electrical (Automation) Technicians, Wastewater, and Lull Operators working with all business lines, logistics, and QA.

• Manages the work and activities of maintenance team leaders, staff, and external resources within a plant so that repair and service activities are completed according to quality standards, accurately, safely, and on-time.

• Manages, plans, prioritizes, and schedules maintenance activities (e.g., preventive, and curative maintenance programs, shutdowns, or emergency repairs) to optimize OEE, rectify breakdowns and malfunctions and minimize business disruptions.

• Owns sustain & improve projects locally. Participates actively in larger investment projects affecting the plant.

• Ensures that the assets are maintained in a manner that lowers total cost, and capital is effectively used and managed. Identifies risks concerning critical spares and BCP and ensures action plans are in place to mitigate risk and exposure.

• Develops and implements repair and maintenance procedures and manages maintenance system information; monitors the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritizes spending, and achieves timeliness, reliability, and safety standards. Ensures availability of resources and capacity. Responsible for maintenance spare parts

• Conducts root cause failure analysis (RCFA), and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) during multiple hours of downtime or failure of an asset. Implements corrective actions and looks for continuous improvement activities to reduce downtime and extend the life of key assets.

• Researches, evaluates, and recommends new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance the capabilities of the maintenance team.

• Evaluates, selects, and manages relationships with external contractors to increase efficiency (minimize costs) and ensures the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. Develops and sets repair standards, specifications, and audits / inspections of repaired equipment or services.

• Manages and controls maintenance costs according to budget. Updates maintenance cost forecast

• Owns the plant wide work order computer system – CMMS. Responsible for equipment history, work order planning, scheduling, and preventative maintenance tasks as well as predictive maintenance tasks all documented within the CMMS program utilized by the entire plant.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

• 5 years of Maintenance Management experience working within a manufacturing environment.

• Excellent PC skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Required to work in a manufacturing environment.

• Must be able stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch. Must be able to lift and/or move 10 lbs.

• Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally on occasion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $92,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
