To be creditable, specialized experience must have equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Education
All Applicants Must Meet The Individual Occupational Requirement
- Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
- Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
- A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
- Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
- Must submit a copy of your college transcript (unofficial is acceptable) or a list of coursework with hours completed proof of Basic Requirement. Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet Federal qualification requirements if you can show that your foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States. For example, specific courses accepted for college-level credit by an accredited U.S. college or university, or foreign education evaluated by an organization recognized for accreditation by the Department of Education as education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. college or university.
