Services, Ltd. is hiring a permanent, full-time Ironworker to join our team
in Pinson/Birmingham, AL.

At Fives, we all have a part
to play in achieving our common mission. Your role will be to:
* Read specifications and
blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of
materials required.
* Set up hoisting
equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
* Hoist steel beams,
girders, and columns into place using cranes, using hand signals and
tag lines.
* Pulls, pushes or pries
steel members into approximate position while member is supported by
hoisting device.
* Forces members into
final position, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks and hand tools.
* Aligns bolt holes in
steel member using drift pins or spud wrenches.
* Verifies vertical and
horizontal alignment of members using plumb bob and level.
* Bolts align members to
keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded
in place.
* Connect columns, beams,
and girders with bolts following blueprints using various bolts,
nuts, washers and torqing or welding.
* Cuts and welds steel
members to make alterations using oxyacetylene welding equipment and
supplies.
* Adhere to the general
safety plan.
* Compare and see
differences in size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
* Picture solid objects
from drawings or diagrams.
* Rate information using
standards that can be measured or checked.

* Must have experience in
blueprint reading, layout, shop tools – oxy/acetylene torch, various
hand tools, drill press, saw, ironworker, etc.
* Performs tasks involving
physical labor at customer sites.
* Loads, unloads, lifts,
and moves materials.
* Handles slings and
shackles up to 80 pounds, 10 times per day.
* Works on multiple job
sites installing and refurbishing Combustion Furnaces
* Works with various power
and hand tools.
* Current Weld
Certification
* Basic understanding of
construction principles and procedures
* Willingness to work in
high-stress environment
* Ability to work in a
team environment
* OSHA 10 hour certified
* Must be reliable, hard
worker and able to work in a team environment
* Must have valid driver’s
license or state issued picture ID and reliable transportation
* Work experience in the
Aluminum, Steel, Forging, Ductile Iron, Petrochem, Co-gen, Foundry or
Automotive industries is a plus.
