Scout Branding is Seeking a Junior Designer
Full-Time
Graphic Designers live and breathe design, typography, color theory and composition. They’re responsible for creating stunning visuals for both print and digital media. They work closely with other designers, creative directors, copywriters and web developers to translate brand and marketing strategies into comps that render beautifully in print and code.
Job Summary:
You’ll be at the heart of all design projects collaborating closely with the design and account teams. While brand identity and web design are central to our focus, you'll also work on a diverse range of creative tasks including motion graphics, illustration, packaging, naming, environmental design, and more.
This position will require 2 days/week of in-person working at our office in Birmingham, AL.
Our ideal candidate:
- Has completed a design-related internship, or has gained 1-2 years experience designing and implementing brand identities across a range of touch points
- Possesses an understanding of multimedia design, including web design
- Can show us an organized portfolio featuring a variety of industries and deliverables
- Articulates ideas with clarity and conviction
- Can adapt to different styles, industries and types of design work
- Possesses excellent listening skills to understand and implement client or team feedback
- Is organized, detailed-oriented and takes initiative while working
- Is naturally curious and passionate about the latest tools, trends and technologies in design
- Has the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Performs effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Loves what they do and is happy at work
As a junior designer, you’ll be asked to support the following:
Brand identity projects
You would collaborate with other designers to craft brand identity systems, including the brand guide, associated graphics, email & social media templates, and other brand collateral.
Web & digital design
This candidate should be familiar with the world of web design. You’ll work closely with your teammates to concept, map, wireframe and design custom websites which are all developed in-house.
Ongoing communications and marketing
Whether with new or ongoing client partnerships, you’ll contribute to ongoing communications/marketing initiatives, which can include aspects of data visualization, motion graphics, editorial, illustration, packaging, environmental design and more.
