Archdiocese of Detroit is Hiring a 2024-2025 Teacher Near Birmingham, MI

Holy Name Catholic School is looking for experienced and qualified teachers for the 2024-2025 school year. The candidates should be able to build community, design and manage learning, communicate with students, families, and colleagues, and grow professionally. The candidates should also be able to assist in other school programs as assigned. Holy Name is a Catholic community of life-long learners dedicated to academic excellence and Faith Formation, centered in the teachings of Jesus Christ. The candidates should be able to assist in the implementation of this mission and:
• Teach all subjects utilizing the AOD curriculum, state benchmarks, and national standards.
• Engage students in learning through best practice strategies.
• Assess students’ academic and social growth.
• Assist the administration in organizing and revising curriculum.
• Create well-crafted lesson plans
* Perform various non-instructional duties, such as attendance, parking lot and bus duty.
• Attend weekly in-service meetings, staff meetings, and committee meetings as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable classroom environment.
• Participate in professional learning teams through memberships in school committees and grade level discussions.
• Assure that technology is used in instruction and learning targets are specifically cited in each lesson.
• Use a variety of student assessment tools to gauge student understanding and will design alternate teaching techniques as a result.
• Maintain positive relationships with other faculty and staff members and keeps information regarding students, parents, or school business strictly confidential.
Qualifications:
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
• Strong example of Catholic Christian faith
• Catechist certification (or willingness to attain certification)
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
• Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
• Competency in student management and supervision
• Must take Protecting God's Children class
