Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Water/Wastewater Utility Contracting Estimator to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, developing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimation:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project scope, requirements, and constraints.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to ensure precision and efficiency in estimating processes.
Cost Analysis:
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors.
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure competitiveness and alignment with project goals.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry best practices to enhance cost accuracy.
Proposal Development:
- Work closely with the proposal team to develop compelling and competitive bids.
- Clearly articulate the basis of the estimates and assumptions made in the proposal.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss and clarify estimating-related matters.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders to enhance collaboration and project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management OR Proven experience as an estimator in water/wastewater utility contracting, with a minimum of 7 Years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
