Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Development of market and decision making - analysis, evaluation, and optimization of supplier portfolio.
· Manages supplier database ensuring information are up to date and correct.
· Identify and evaluate requirement and needs, create contracts, issues Pos and, as well as invoice verification.
· Assist MP&L on deliverables that are at risk and held supplier accountable.
· Independent execution of cost and contract negotiations protecting company interest.
· Collect and track supplier related cost reduction.
· Identification and implementation of cost optimization potentials during serial production phase: cost/process related, resourcing/in-sourcing activities and execution of commodities strategies maintaining or improving quality of material or product.
· Support of production and R&D through appropriate purchasing service (Spend).
· Support supply chain optimization to improve material flow, capture value or reduce waste in the supply chain.
· Interaction with departments to ensure continuous service and support of ongoing projects (Strategy).
· Planning and coordination of purchasing activities for prototypes and complete order processing.
· Identify and implement improvement possibilities of the project and potential cost savings.
· Participation in change process of technical documentation, technical and cost-side coordination with suppliers.
· Execute development of business planning and tool cost of prototype and volume production.
· Ensure on-time industrialization of projects.
· Prepare and realize technical discussions and cost saving negotiations with suppliers- and VA/VE during project ramp up.
· Spearhead BOM Management.
· Lead supplier communication relating to quality and delivery related issues that requires escalation.
· Other duties maybe assigned detrimental to the goals and objectives of the organization.
Skills:
· Strong negotiation skills (terms, pricing, and transport).
· Self-motivated, demonstrated work ethics and result oriented.
· Proficient with SAP system (Materials Management at minimum) - Preferred
· Microsoft office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and others).
· Ability to communicate effectively and concisely.
· Ability to work in a fast paced, startup environment.
· Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
· Great entrepreneurial spirit and can work with less supervision.
Qualifications:·
· 2-5 yr. experience as a buyer for direct materials (resins, components, seals, gaskets, and others).
· Additional experience in CAPEX and machinery procurement is an advantage.
· Ability to travel as needed 10%-20%.
· Relevant industry related certifications.
· BS Engineering, Business, Purchasing or Supply Chain.
