Job Purpose:

📊 Prepare financial reports, perform account reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger.

📝 Develop and maintain sales tax compliance policies and procedures. Research multi-state sales and use tax issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

✅ Assist Controller with month-end close for timely financial statements.

📊 Prepare detailed gross profit reports by client and line of business.

⚖️ Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.

📊 Prepare various financial analyses and reports.

📝 Manage the company’s TIN Match program, prepare annual 1099s and 1096.

📑 Process and file multi-state annual reports.

📊 Compile information for financial and compliance audits.

💰 Monitor and maintain multi-state sales tax records:

✅ Research sales tax, use tax, and tax codes for compliance.

🔍 Prepare supporting documentation for sales tax audits.

🔗 Maintain and synchronize the company’s sales tax database.

💼 Reconcile and process daily sales tax commitments.

🔐 Control and monitor resale certificates and exemptions.

📊 Review and approve multi-state sales and use tax returns.

💡 Assist with special finance and tax projects.

🔧 Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

📚 5 years’ experience in Accounting and/or Taxation required.

🎓 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax required.

💼 Preference given to candidates with Certified Public Accountant designation.

📊 Prior experience in preparing multi-state sales and use tax returns is a plus.

💡 Experience with Avalara preferred.

💼 Working knowledge of GAAP.

💬 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

💻 Intermediate to proficient level in Microsoft Office applications.

📋 Excellent organizational skills.

⏰ Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
