Full Time Parts Counter Sales Associate

We are always on the lookout for people that like to serve others and want to be a part of a team. Locally owned Owenhouse Ace Hardware is looking for professional, upbeat, friendly, on time, DEPENDABLE, happy applicants that are customer service oriented. MUST BE ON TIME AND WORK WHAT YOU HAVE AGREED TO IN A WORK SCHEDULE. In a word, BE DEPENDABLE! You will need to be able to navigate stairs and be on your feet most of the day. Benefits Package-

40 hours/week all year round. Steady, consistent schedule

Monday-Friday 8-5(1 hour lunch) & One Saturday per month (half day only)

Position starts at $20.00-$22.00/hr. DOE benefits & bonus

Position Philosophy:
The Parts Counter Associate’s primary responsibility is providing exceptional customer service at all times while also participating in the general upkeep of the Parts counter area & Department. The Parts Counter Associate will assist in the selling, receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall department cleanliness. The Parts Counter Associate is responsible for the checking in, processing and sharpening of all chain saw chain in a timely fashion.

Customer Service:

Provide a positive representation of Owenhouse Ace Hardware.

Proactively assist customers in solving problems.

Greet customers entering and throughout the store.

Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.

Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor.

Work well with customers as well as associates.

Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.

Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.

Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.

Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.

Help customers with the loading and unloading of their equipment as needed.

Other duties may be assigned.


Store Operations:

Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.

Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the department.

Assist with maintaining back stock levels.

Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the Parts counter area, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.

Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.

Ensure signage is current throughout the department.

Participate in department meetings

Be professional in appearance and actions.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Greet customers entering the Parts counter area. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.

Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.

Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.

Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.

Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.

Assist in selling, pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.

Occasionally help with Lawnmower Blade & Chainsaw sharpening.

Register Operations:

Follow all cash register transaction procedures.

Responsible for accurately counting change back to customers.

Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.

Adhere to any Store program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers.

- Some Weekend availability is required to be considered.-


Other Essential Requirements:

High School or GED equivalent.

Computer experience required.

Experience:

Retail experience preferred but not required.

Parts counter experience is preferred but not required.

Customer service experience preferred but not required.


Physical Demands:

Standing, walking, climbing & lifting (up to 50 lbs.) are required.
