Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive tax audits for individuals, businesses, and organizations
- Review to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other related documents
- Prepare detailed audit reports, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions
- Bookkeeping and financial statement reconciliation
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations
- Assist in developing and implementing audit policies, procedures, and strategies to enhance efficiency
Currently seeking a Senior Auditor for a position at a growing CPA firm located in southern Fairfield County. The public accounting firm has been in business for over thirty years and provides professional tax and accounting services for a diversified client base, including high net worth individuals, privately held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. The firm has a culture that drives professional development, independence and career advancement. We are searching for candidates who will be a long-term asset to our dynamic team.
Senior Auditor Primary ResponsibilitiesAudit, compilation and review of non-profit and for-profit organizations
Preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures
General accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement maintenance and reconciliations
Assist the audit supervisor and audit manager as needed
Build strong relationships with clients
Senior Auditor RequirementsBachelor's or master's degree in accounting
3-5 years of audit and accounting experience
CPA certified or in process of pursuing is a plus
Thomson Reuters Advance Flow experience is a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA or CPA in progress preferred.
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficient in using audit software and Microsoft Office Suite
