Post-doctoral Research Scientist (On-site, 12-month contract, Potential for extension and/or FTE conversion)

Overview

Our biotech client is seeking a post-doctoral scientist with broad knowledge in molecular biology and cell-based assays to join the metabolic AAV gene therapies group on a contract basis. The post-doctoral scientist will be involved in developing and screening novel AAV gene therapies to support the client’s growing AAV gene therapies pipeline.

Responsibilities

Representative responsibilities will include, but are not necessarily be limited to, the following:

• Participate in designing and producing novel AAV gene therapies candidates

• Collaborate with peers within metabolic gene therapies and broader research teams to evaluate AAV gene therapy candidate properties and function using in vitro assays

• Develop cell-based biological potency assays

• Author and review protocols, electronic notebook entries, technical reports, and scientific publications

• Maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures and results

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in biological sciences discipline

• High degree of experience with cell culture techniques and cell-based assays

• High degree of experience with standard molecular biology techniques

• Experience with AAV gene therapy a plus

• Experience with flow cytometry a plus

• Experience with in vivo work a plus

• Entrepreneurial spirit, with strong willingness to take on new challenges required

• Excellent organizational and communication skills required
