Silver Creek Manor in Bristol, RI is looking for a Rehab Technician Full Time to support the administrative and clinical outcomes for our rehab team!
Job Overview for Rehab Technician Full Time: As a Rehabilitation Technician in our Skilled Nursing Facility, you will work closely with the rehabilitation team to provide essential support in delivering high-quality care to our residents. Your role extends beyond direct patient care to include administrative responsibilities, ensuring the smooth operation of rehabilitation services.
Key Responsibilities for Rehab Technician Full Time:
Assist in Therapy Sessions:
Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other rehabilitation professionals to facilitate therapy sessions.
Set up and organize therapy equipment and tools as per therapist instructions.
Guide residents through prescribed exercises and activities under the supervision of therapists.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident participation in rehabilitation activities.
Communicate regularly with the rehabilitation team to provide feedback on residents' progress and any observed changes in their condition.
Administrative Duties for Rehab Technician Full Time:
Insurance Verification:
Verify insurance coverage for residents undergoing rehabilitation services.
Communicate with insurance providers to obtain necessary authorizations and approvals.
Part B Preauthorization Request:
Prepare and submit Part B preauthorization requests for therapy services.
Ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines and follow up on the status of authorization requests.
Mobility Assistance:
Provide support to residents with mobility challenges, ensuring their safety during transfers and ambulation exercises.
Assist in the use of mobility aids and devices as prescribed by therapists.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure that therapy equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained.
Report any issues or malfunctions of equipment to the appropriate personnel.
Patient Education:
Instruct residents and their families on exercises and activities to be continued independently between therapy sessions.
Reinforce therapists' instructions regarding home exercise programs.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, nurses, and caregivers to provide comprehensive care to residents.
Communicate effectively with the rehabilitation team to address any concerns or modifications needed in therapy plans.
Qualifications for Rehab Technician Full Time:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certification in rehabilitation or healthcare is a plus.
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting.
Basic understanding of rehabilitation principles and techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow instructions from therapists and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Physical Requirements for Rehab Technician Full Time:
Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
Stamina and physical endurance to assist with therapy sessions throughout the day.
