As an On Demand Services Engineer, you will provide clientele with Network, Security and Systems support to maximize stability, availability, security and functionality within the production environment. As a customer-interfacing contact, you will work to solve pressing business issues and drive positive change. You will leverage technology, advance services and provide performance improvement feedback.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform network/systems support
Troubleshoot, isolate and diagnose common problems network/systems problems, either alone or as part of a team
Resolve and manage problems immediately
Work in a team environment 7x24x365 with the ability to function with independent discretion during rotating shift work
Provide systems support functions for client end systems, which includes design, development, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem resolution. Follow- through until problems are resolved.
Maintain current, high-level technical skills in your network field of expertise. Keep abreast of developments in computing technology and solutions to common problems.
Responsible for working tickets and projects, as assigned, and closing out tickets correctly and in a timely manner.
Ensuring management is informed of any issues andescalations
Comply with both internal and client processes and procedural changes in reference to assigned jobs
Maintain toolkit and toolkit inventory. Replace items as needed
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Experience/training on one or more of thefollowing:
Cisco, Nortel, 3Com, Microsoft NT, Client NetWare, VMware Understanding of the two or more of the following routing protocols:
IP, IPX, EIRGP, OSPF,RIP
Ability to perform basic protocol analysis using a LAN analyzer Understanding of WAN, LAN, interfaces, protocols, and topology Knowledge of WAN and LAN Concepts
Excellentoral and written communications skills Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills Understanding of switching concepts-VLAN, ATM Experience/training on one or more of thefollowing:
Router IOS-Cisco, Nortel,3Com Server NOS NetWare, NT, Unix
Hardware NIC, hard drive and controllers
WAN knowledge Frame relay, CSU/DSU, T-1 I F T1 IATM Proprietary Software CiscoWorks, Transcend, Optivity and Spectrum DHCP/DNS
Must be able to pass a customer required Virginia State Police (VSP) background check
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
College degree preferred; high school diploma required 1-3 years of Networking Experience
1-3 years Field Experience
1-3 years in a client-facing position
CCNA upon hire or within 6 months of employment
