Responsibilities

Weatherford is hiring a Repair & Maintenance Specialist for our Broussard facility. The Repair & Maintenance Specialist will be working within a supportive, inclusive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE

  • Seeks continual improvement in Health, Safety, Security & protection of the Environment, taking into account responsible care, process vulnerabilities, public, customer and employee inputs, knowledge and technology and best business practices to exceed customer expectations
  • Supervisors & Managers should demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety arrangements of all subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises

QUALITY

  • Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherfords Management System
  • Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement

OPERATIONS

  • Participates in all daily operations & safety meetings, toolbox, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and reports any issues promptly using the appropriate tools
  • Assists, performs, and may lead basic to complex troubleshooting, scheduled preventive maintenance and modifications on a wide range of electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment, including data acquisition systems to determine the cause of failure, performs corrective actions following documented Company policies & procedures against their level of training & competence
  • Assists, performs, and may lead testing and calibration tasks of tools following documented policies & procedures against their level of training & competence
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in regard to equipment, procedures, and documentation
  • Check Work Orders, AIRTs, PFTs, Forms, Checklists, Repair Requests and ensures all relevant databases are maintained accurately
  • Communicates any problems, discrepancies, or other noteworthy incidents to the Operations Supervisor and / or Operations Manager without delay.
  • In senior positions, the employee will often lead the team in undertaking all the assignments detailed above. This includes troubleshooting equipment issues, implementing corrective actions, and providing access to all relative R&M documented policies, procedures, work instructions, and technical manuals allowing the R&M team to complete their work effectively and efficiently
  • Senior roles will ensure all field and workshop personnel follow the corrective and preventative maintenance procedures, ensuring all failures are followed up to closure with a proper root cause analysis and with the implementation of predetermined corrective action(s)
  • Senior roles will lead the workshop and / or the electronic lab, defining and distributing the work assignment schedules while evaluating the quality, proficiency, and efficiency of the works being carried out through performing regular inspections to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Orders parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or approved suppliers according to Weatherfords guidelines and procedures
  • Supports and complies with the LEAN initiatives and participates in the continuous efficiency improvement program of the facility.
  • Performs other duties and activities safely as assigned by supervisor within physical constraints of the job

COMMUNICATION

  • Where required, will report all equipment failures and troubleshooting requirements to the R&M Management
  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
  • Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports

FINANCIAL

  • All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Qualifications

Experience & Education

REQUIRED

  • 0-2 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry in a Service Quality / Excellence position.
  • High School Diploma
  • Basic Computer Skills

Preferred

  • Basic Mathematics
  • More senior roles require the ability to diagnose issues and problems with tools / equipment
  • Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, monitoring of equipment
  • Critical thinking, active learning & listening, complex problem solving
  • Good reading and writing skills, strong judgement and decision-making to be in line with policies & procedures
  • Time management
  • Quality Control Analysis to ensure product meets required standards
  • Capable to meet the physical demands that the role requires
  • Information & task ordering & ability to identify when a problem may occur and where possible to understand solution
  • Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery
  • Ability to imagine how tools and products will look when preparing for assembly, repair or modifications
