First Brands Group is hiring an OPERATIONS MANAGER to work on site on our TRICO plant, located in Brownsville Texas.

• Position is responsible for supervision in the processing, packaging, receiving and customer returns operations. Must promote a clean and safe workplace, with a primary goal to produce quality parts on time. Review production schedules.
• The OPERATIONS MANAGER will assist by:
• Principal activities
• Develop and maintain Team Member accountability for all issues identified in accordance to plant policies/ procedures
• Manage & approve time of subordinates utilizing timekeeping system.
• Interpret company policy to workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
• Communicate daily with the team.
• Correct and improve actions in the respective area with regard to employee engagement.
• Enforce safety compliance by ensuring the proper training is given in OSHA mandated regulations.
• Report machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance and process personnel.
• Responsible for containment of non-stable and non-capable processes.
• Apply the corrective action process when discrepancies/non-conformances are detected.
• Promote a sense of urgency to all downtime issues.
• Mobilize appropriate resources to address quality or maintenance issues, striving for permanent corrective action plans to close issues.
• Working in conjunction with support staff, drive action(s) to close all Product, Process, and Design issues until closure is realized.
• Ensure all scrap is appropriately tagged and dispositioned in a timely manner.

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years’ experience as a Supervisor in a global, high-volume, Lean manufacturing environment, working with high-precision and tight tolerances. Prefer 5 years’ experience in engineering/supervisory role.
• Thorough knowledge of aftermarket and assembly technology, processes and principles.
• Possess solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities;
• Support Quality System (QS/TS); Knowledge of continuous improvement (Kaizen) and problem solving techniques (Lean/Six Sigma).
