The Operator Technician II - Nights (600 D) is responsible for the startup, operation and total productive maintenance of molding and / or assembly equipment, and the packaging of molded and / or assembled components per company and customer specifications.

This position follows a 12-hour rotating schedule from 6 : 00 p.m. - 6 : 15 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain all policies of the company, including but not limited to, ISO, environment, health and safety, continuous improvement, good manufacturing practices, and standard work procedures.
• Maintain a clean work space and 5S standards in all work areas.
• Complete visual inspection of product per production specification for defects.
• Report identified visual defects to Supervisor or Operator Technician III.
• Enter daily production and scrap data into Mattec.
• Operate molding, assembly and / or packaging equipment as required per product specifications and / or work instructions.
• Complete production and workstation documentation as required.
• Package and label product per customer specification inside and outside of the clean rooms (this may include the following or alternate responsibilities : forming / taping and labeling boxes, lifting product from totes into boxes, placing boxes on pallets, and returning empty totes to clean room.)
• Maintain lean initiatives and participate in lean projects.
• Provide suggestions and take active role in process improvements to eliminate non-value added activity.
• Review required documentation out of TMS to assist with quality related decisions.
• Start and stop injection molding equipment and / or assembly equipment after initial start-up.
• Answer equipment alarms.
• Complete assembly and auxiliary equipment Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities.
• Complete injection molding equipment and mold Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities.
• Responsible for Kanban system associated with work cell to ensure materials are properly staged.
• Perform scale set-up and operation of scales.
• Utilize SAP to manage LRP labels and documents.
• Complete cycle checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred / Required Education / Skills :

• High School Diploma or GED or Injection Molding Machine Experience required
• Basic math skills
• PC Skills (entering data into a computer)
• One year of injection molding machine operator experience (preferably in a medical device or pharmaceutical industry)
• Understand, speak and write English

Work Environment

• Works in a clean manufacturing and warehouse environment that may include moderate noise levels
• Requires donning a doffing of PPE (gown, safety shoes, safety glasses, hairnets, ear plugs)
• No make-up, jewelry or nail polish permitted
• Able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• Stand and walk 90% of shift to and from machines, buildings and / or clean rooms
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grab and climb
