Applies scientific knowledge and theory to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. The therapist is qualified to assume primary responsibilities for all respiratory care. Under the supervision of a physician, the therapist is required to exercise considerable independent clinical judgment in the respiratory care of patients. This position must demonstrate competence in assessment, range of treatment and knowledge of growth and development appropriate to the age and disabilities of the patients treated.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Minimum: Graduate of a Respiratory Care program
Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Care or related field
License, Certification, Registration:
Current PA Respiratory Care license, Healthcare Provider CPR and Act 33/73 Clearances.
Preferred: PEARS
Experience:
Minimum: Clinical rotation through educational program
Preferred: One year in an acute care hospital
Other Requirements:
Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle medications to include prescription and non-prescription medications. Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle sharps, such as needles, suture kits, lancets, syringes, etc.
