Base rate:
$22.39/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience

Summary:
Geauga County Job and Family Services is seeking a dynamic leader to join our Shared team. This employee will oversee the Human Resources functions and lead the Clerical Team. He or she must be experienced in Human Resource and administrative functions.

The primary purpose of the Human Resources Officer 1 position is to oversee the agency Human Resources functions and supervise the Human Resources Assistant position and clerical positions. Maintains personnel records of the agency employees, advises agency employees regarding human resources related issues, as well as, recruits, screens, interviews and recommends the selection of job applicants. Advises management staff on Human Resource related issues and assists with performance management strategies. Maintains compliance with Local, State and Federal laws.

Requirements:
  • Completion of two years technical training in personnel practices, human relations, labor studies, public administration, or similar field. Also requires one year of experience in a human resources environment. Or education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the above.
  • Reading and speaking common English vocabulary
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and FBI/BCI&I background checks
  • Integrity, honesty and ethical standard of behavior
