Now accepting applications for a Housekeeping Supervisor. This position directs the housekeeping, laundry and floor services for the entire campus. This includes the scheduling and coordination of the housekeeping and floor care staffs under the supervision of the Director of Facility Services.

POSITION SUMMARY: Housekeeping Supervisor directs the housekeeping, laundry and floor services for the entire campus. This includes the scheduling and coordination of the housekeeping and floor care staffs under the supervision of the Director of Facility Services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Represents the campus in a positive manner while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for residents and employees alike. Works within the campus programs to encourage and promote safety and the well-being of all residents and employees.

2. Upholds the campus’s Mission Statement.

3. Maintains HIPAA standards and regards all medical or healthcare information pertaining to residents and employees as confidential.

4. Supervises the housekeeping staffs including interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, disciplining, evaluating, scheduling, supervision and coordination of daily work activities.

5. Orders cleaning supplies for housekeeping department.

6. Removes trash located in the collection areas of the campus.

7. Cleans inhabited and vacant units to “like new” condition (including but not limited to the cleaning of cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, window sills, appliances, etc.)

8. Cleans all building areas to “like new” condition (including but not limited to the cleaning of cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, window sills, etc.)

9. Checks shipments and deliveries from vendors.

10. Leads group cleaning projects and coordinates with outside vendors.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Travels occasionally for training sessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.

2. Responsible for knowledge of fire and safety procedures including those involving blood-borne pathogens.

3. Remains in proper uniform at all times and maintains a high standard of appearance.

4. Completes all work/cleaning orders in a timely manner.

5. Comprehends budget and exercises cost control.

6. Interacts well with marketing tours and prospective residents.

7. Maintains excellent resident and employee relations. Handles complaints and recommendations constructively.

8. Attends employee in-services as required.

9. Accepts other duties as required by the Director of Maintenance.

PREREQUISITES:

A. Education

  • Technical certification from a janitorial program desired.

B. Direct Previous Experience

  • Janitorial or maintenance experience required.
  • Two years experience in a similar housekeeping position desired.

C. Skills:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to use hand tools, carts and dollies.
  • Exhibits efficient computer skills.

D. Abilities:

  • Work outdoors and indoors during the work day (fluorescent lights, HVAC system, carpeted flooring, normal office noise levels).
  • Climb up to two flights of stairs.
  • Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head.
  • Move objects of 40 pounds or more.
  • Ability to work under time-sensitive or stressful situations.
  • Respond to medical emergencies on a rare occasion.
  • Assist with resident evacuations, if ever required.
